Progressive Lenses in Sunglasses

Q: Is it okay to get prescription sunglasses with out the progressive lenses? My everyday glasses are going to be progressive lenses.

A: Hello Lisa,
Normally when you check your eyes you get a prescription which will show you the far vision diopters and the close vision diopters separately.

The progressive eyeglasses are an option you choose, but the prescription is the same as for separate glasses.

So you can do as many eyeglasses as you like, as long you make them based on the prescription. You can make sunglasses with far vision diopters, and this is ok, you will change eyeglasses whenever is necessary and you will be ok.

So, no problem, you can make them.

Hope this helps,
Arpi
